Cultural Awareness Materials

We know that early learning lays a foundation for academic success. At FACEPAINT, we want as many children as possible to have access to our cultural awareness books and materials—which have received great editorial reviews.

One of the main missions of FACEPAINT is to support education through donations of our published children’s and young adult books—which cover a variety of topics, including geography and social awareness, and are intended for children across a broad range of ages. Donation recipients include schools, public libraries, Little Free Libraries, prison libraries, parent centers, and homeschooling parents.

Kirkus Book Review

For very brief introductions to the major natural formations and economic industries of Canada’s provinces and territories, this is a good choice for younger readers. The mnemonic device of naming characters after the provincial capitals will help kids memorize them effortlessly. Combine this with the rhyming verses summarizing the important information, and Weisberg and Yoffe (Friends and Mates in Fifty States, 2008) have created quite the learning tool…Helpful mnemonic devices and a simple presentation make learning about Canada a breeze.”
